Uritractin is a food supplement that combines the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of natural polyphenols, widely described in the literature1-8.
🍒_Cranberry fruit extract (Vaccinium macrocarpon), standardized to 50% proanthocyanidins (PACs).

💊_120 small size capsules. 4 month supply. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The cranberry is a small red fruit, similar to the blueberry (very popular in Europe). The main difference between these two fruits is that cranberries are rich in a family of polyphenols called proanthocyanidins (PACs), especially those of type A. Type A PACs have been identified as responsible for the antibacterial properties of cranberries.
In 2003, the AFSSA (French Food Safety Agency) considered the claim “Helps reduce adherence of certain E. coli bacteria to the walls of the urinary tract” to be acceptable based on studies conducted with various cranberry products containing they provide at least 36 mg of PACS9. Uritractin provides 125 mg of PACs per dose.

In a clinical practice guide for uncomplicated cystitis published in 2013 by the Spanish Association of Urology, it is summarized, after reviewing the scientific evidence existing up to that time, that “cranberries are an effective preventive option in patients with urinary tract infection recurrent, except in those patients with neurogenic bladder. Although their efficacy is inferior to antibiotic prophylaxis, we believe that they constitute a first-line preventive strategy, since the prophylactic administration of antibiotics, in addition to the side effects they have for the patient (allergies, vaginal candidiasis, etc) has an impact on the development of resistance to them since in a given country there is a direct correlation between consumption and percentage of resistance“.
The recommended daily intake of Uritractin is one capsule per day, which corresponds to a daily intake of 125 mg of proanthocyanidins. This amount is significantly higher than that used in several clinical studies that have shown the antibacterial properties of proanthocyanidins and their effectiveness in preventing urinary tract infections, especially in combating the Escherichia coli bacteria, which is dominant in this type of infection. For example, a clinical study conducted by the Department of Urology at the Weill Cornell Medical Center at the Cornell University School of Medicine in New York in the United States showed that the consumption of 36 mg of proanthocyanidins per day is sufficient to prevent Urinary infections. This study was published in 2016 in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is available for online consultation (link to the original article in English).
Another ingredient in the Uritractin is the concentrated hibiscus extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Hibiscus is a plant in the Malvaceae family and has hundreds of species. Some of these species, such as Hibiscus sabdariffa known for the popular hibiscus tea, are edible and highly sought after due to their diuretic and antimicrobial properties. Hibiscus flowers are rich in bioactive polyphenols, such as anthocyanins. The calyx is the most studied part of the flower, it has diuretic and antimicrobial effects10-14, aids digestion, reduces blood pressure and combats oxidative stress15.
