The authors analysed clinical trials with melatonin and related drugs, along with herbs such as chamomile and valerian, and observed improvements in time to insomnia in adults.

A study in Nutrients 2025 reviews hundreds of papers on omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in people with chronic diseases. The authors conclude that a higher intake of long-chain omega-3s, such as EPA and DHA found in oily fish, is associated with less inflammation, better cardiovascular function and an increased risk of heart disease.
